What to text a girl who takes hours to reply

Hours between texts doesn't mean she's uninterested. It means her life is happening somewhere other than her phone. She's at work, in class, with friends, or just not glued to her screen. People who give out their numbers are saying yes. How fast they reply is separate from how interested they are.

What matters is that she replied at all. She didn't leave you on read. She didn't unmatch. She responded. That's the signal you're looking for. Her reply speed will probably stay about the same for a while, and that's fine. You're not building momentum through text velocity. You're building it by saying the right thing when you do text.

Don't try to be funny or entertaining over text when she's slow to reply. She's not sitting around waiting for your messages. Instead, your text should do one thing: create a concrete reason to meet in person. Suggest a specific place, a specific activity, or a timeframe. Make it easy for her to say yes without a conversation about logistics.

Keep the text short. The longer your message, the more you're asking her to write back. A short, clear suggestion respects that she's busy and makes her decision simple. If she says yes to the plan, you have her attention. If she says no or ghosts, you've only spent minimal effort and you can move on.

Don't send a second text while waiting for her reply unless it's been at least 24 hours. One message in her inbox is fine. Two or three makes you look like you're chasing. If she replies in 8 hours or 2 days, reply within a few hours. You can be faster when she finally responds.
